An FDA gone nuts over walnuts?
Did you hear the one about the USFDA having a policing problem over the health toutings found on Diamond’s packages of delicious walnuts?
Once I heard that a country with many laws is a crooked country. And I do believe America’s founders were of the persuasion that our nation’s laws are not meant to be more important than the communities and individuals they protect in this hard-won, Bill of Rights nation.
Okay, so maybe I’m a bit biased because walnuts happen to be my favorite nut, all things considered, and they’re being bullied (rightly or wrongly) by a goliath of State. And I don’t appreciate in the least the coldhearted police-state direction America’s governing and banking families have now determined to be ‘necessary’ for we-the-people’s futures.
Now that would be a simmering crock! For its forced implementation advantages only the power elite, not the rest of us.
Plus, I must admit to being spotted now and then tossing a few walnut chunks atop a summer salad along with some tres-thin slices of
red globe radishes unless someone tries to stop me.
Oh, and this weekend while on a family visit I enjoyed a delightful meal of Pad Thai–click for a recipe of this rather complex dish and/or to view a Pad Thai cookery demonstration video.
It’s very cool!

Blog Note: my ‘debt crisis’/default August 2nd’ articles may be located at Stars Over Washington if you can stand to read even one more word about the gangs and gansters of Washington DC–as seen through the lens of Astrology. jc
Where America now treads
Where American now treads? On you and me.
And if you’ve ever read my grousings online, here or @ Stars Over Washington, you may know that I consider America to be ‘my only nag in the race’ in spite of years of propaganda from our illusory ‘two-party system’ of government with its tiresome demonizing of the opposition at every turn…their win-at-any-costs political ideologies have helped sink us lower than kicked puppies under front porches – and are being perpetrated bwo their following of a long-planned NWO design.
Well, here’s an article that focuses on the financial crisis and then some, while it details more of what’s really issuing out of Washington than the average Democrat, Republican, tea partier, or militia woman cares to face or admit. To do so, one must put the ‘Ds vs Rs’ myth to rest where it belongs, and scoff at political shills like Sarah Palin as she attempts to whip up frantic support for a GOP sworn to undermine President Barack Obama (and America with him, if that’s what it takes. Besides, it’s NWO string-pullers who ultimately decide who will be US president, not Sarah Pallin worshipers, or other voters.)
Yet facing our demons so they can be identified and vanquished is all that will avail us during these difficult times. So if Washington politicians won’t take part in honest discussions about our problems (and from experience we know they won’t), then it’s up to us to uncover for ourselves and deal with the underbelly of greedy power-grabbing and deceit we’ve been scammed by through the decades.
Proud to be an American
Soul-searching after Senator Edward Kennedy’s Passing…
One thing you may as well know: I had friends who served, and friends who dodged the draft, during the Vietnam War, an abomination on par with the Bush-Cheney ‘Cakewalk’ invasion of Iraq 2003 to __?__.
My belief is that President Obama’s expansion of US troops into Afghanistan, Pakistan (and wherever else the zionists take him) is a mistaken course. For one thing, true success doesn’t come when a vengeful spirit is indulged. Such ‘success’ is only temporary for it is not based on permanent values upon which the Universe hinges (Love is the Foundation.)
Senator Kennedy’s passing last evening has me thinking about how I was once prouder to be an American than I’ve been able to be in the last several years of ‘rule’ by the zealous emotional robots who bedevil us to this day and beyond.
And if I never get to feel proud of America again, so be it, I’ll just have to deal.
But do one favor for me please? If you haven’t yet, read this one article: Thugs of Fortune, posted by Jeff Huber.
Thank You.

Who will roar for the underdogs now?
Dave Schechter on the meaning of patriotism
It’s become more common than ever in these R v D days that voicing a varying opinion on America and her direction garners you little but critics.
Here Dave Schechter discusses the phenomenon of having one’s patriotism questioned when you aren’t going along with society’s popular views of the moment.
In recent days I’ve noticed a tendency of certain partisans and their political gurus of failing to remember the emotional days just after the attacks of 9/11 and how ‘patriotism’ and its supposed lack was used to browbeat House and Senate members into voting for the rush to war, as the ploy silenced their loudest critics.
But if they didn’t realize it then, most Americans now see how wrong and cynical this tactic was with the goose-stepping House proceedings televised on C-SPAN – put on display in order to get the public onboard the war wagon for we Americans have to feel a larger cause is at stake before we trouble the waters and bomb the children of other nations.
Our emotions must be highly stirred and shaken to get us to march away to foreign lands, a fact politicians have understood and used for decades.
There, I said it. Dissenting me blabs aloud again – in honor of our Independence Day’s highly valued intent, if not its usual practice.
“You’re not supposed to be so blind with patriotism that you can’t face reality. Wrong is wrong no matter who does it or says it.” Malcolm X
“We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. When the loyal opposition dies, I think the soul of America dies with it.” Edward R. Murrow
No dissent on their intent here. Happy Independence Day, my America!
MIA: the moral conscience of America
Now that the question of rape has entered the debate on releasing or not releasing more Abu Ghraib photos, perhaps it’s beyond time to ask as Paul Craig Roberts does here: Does America Have a Moral Conscience?
Personally, it’s beyond me how the ACLU or anyone else can think it’s a grand idea to enflame internet channels further with such images of shame (and the shame is on All Sides.)
Releasing more photos seems beyond daft to me, and it’s a waste of time (or a political diversionary tactic perhaps designed to harm a Democratic administration – or vice versa!) to debate it or to wring hands over why the president first said, Yes, now he says No.
Yes, the condition and the ideals of America have certainly devolved in many ways in recent decades, and you may find these brief quotes from Montesquieu, Mencken, and Jefferson worthy of your consideration.
Alec Baldwin April 3, 1958
An actor on one of my favorite comedy shows ’30 Rock’, Alec Baldwin, has been expressing his views for some time over at Huffington Post.
Below is a link to one from Friday Feb 6 in which Mr. Baldwin calls for Tim Geithner’s resignation from the Treasurey Dept, demands that Hank Paulson’s use of TARP money be investigated and that he be prosecuted for fraud, and sends a message to John McCain to ‘shut up’ – his political career is over.
Whew! that’s a lot of direction from an actor, isn’t it?
Born in Massapequa, New York on April 3, 1958, Alec Baldwin would have had to be born between midnight and 12:54 am est on that date to have natal Moon in Earthy, modest Virgo. So I suspect his natal Moon sign is Airy Libra, don’t you?
Now I half expected to see a planet or two out-of-bounds in his natal chart given the actor’s extreme professional success and his rather brazenly expressed views, but not so.
There is an interesting midpoint picture (not dependent on an exact birth time) relating to society (Jupiter and Saturn) and power (Pluto)
Saturn-Pluto = Jupiter (28Lib26 Rx): religious or social fanaticism; plainness and simplicity.
Plus, natal retrograde Jupiter is a ‘maverick’ signature – and he does express himself in gung-ho fashion.
Mr. Baldwin’s planetary combo of Jupiter and Neptune, who together make up the ‘speculator duo’ is on his Nodal axis…
Jupiter-Neptune = NN: associations with swindlers and speculators; placing false hopes on ones associations.
And perhaps his Sun-Moon blend is of interest…
Sun Ari-Moon Lib: independence vs dependence; head vs heart; ebullient sociability and charming hospitality; idealism and hopefulness; capacity to inspire optimism; artistic imagination and talents; naturally romantic and devoted in heroic proportions; chivalrous; an almost childlike desire for social involvement; eager for life.
Negatives may include: tendency to think great guns then peter out; letting frustration eat up confidence; need for appreciation can fuel vanity rather than creativity; vacillation; resting on laurels when new strides should be made.
‘Image for Integration: A conductor leads an orchestra with passionate conviction and a vibrant, pulsating organism of musical perfection is created to the ecstatic uplifting of the audience.’ (‘Sun Sign-Moon Sign’ by Chas & Suzi Harvey.)
This Sun-Moon blend is shared by several other entertainers:
Pearl Bailey, Jean Paul Belmondo, Richard Chamberlain, Shirley Jones, Julian Lennon, Simone Signoret, Gloria Swanson, and Jack Webb (‘Dragnet’.)
Also with Sun Ari-Moon Lib: Wilbur Wright of Wright Bros fame, and essayist-journalist William Hazlitt, who said so aptly that:
“The love of freedom is the love of others; the love of power is the love of ourselves.”
You’d think America – and Washington DC – had that down by now.

Souplines Across America a legacy of Bush?
The more people lining up for their daily bowl of soup, the more I think of the presidency of George W. Bush.
Heads-up to an observant reader who noticed that I never put the title ‘President’ in front of Bush’s name – never have, never will. A ‘Mr” I’ll grant him but nothing more exalted. Most men who have inhabited the Oval Office have risen to the title, President of the United States of America.
But there is One who has lowered America’s standing in the world as he beggared her citizens.
Even now he’s busy justifying himself to…himself, no doubt. With me he’d have a harsher critic than his mirror if he cared to ask. He doesn’t, but if he did.
And since I knew I’d been grousing about such distressing matters as the dwindling economy, the wastefulness of the Bush administration, foreclosures, and hunger for quite a while, I set about finding certain SO’W posts for you – some containing links to articles (by writers who actually know what they’re doing), some with links to other posts with or without astrological observations involved.
It’s a mixed bag, especially because you’ll discover that there are couple of cross links between posts, but that’s how the blogging goes.
My criteria was the search term, Souplines across America, starting with January 2006:
http://starsoverwashington.blogspot.com/2006/01/medicare-rx-plan-2006-off-to-uneven.html
http://starsoverwashington.blogspot.com/2008/05/war-drums-goes-on-and-on.html

http://starsoverwashington.blogspot.com/2008/09/america-in-soupline.html
http://starsoverwashington.blogspot.com/2008/04/plutochiron-class-warfare-going-fine.html
Yes, the plutocratic, overbearing Pluto-Chiron duo is wallowing in its richest element now, isn’t it? And renting our social fabric into tatters.
So tell me – did I overstate the case in the above posts? Were my comments about souplines offensive to proud Americans?
Be that as it may, if you do nothing else, be sure to look for a link to FDR’s ‘test of our progress’ …it’s a dilly when placed next to Bush’s lack of empathy for his fellow man.
